Citrus imports up in Ukraine

Ukraine has increased the citrus imports in the season-2016/17, according to Fruit-Inform.

Ukraine imported 290,000 tons of citrus fruits in September 2016 – August 2017, an increase of 16% compared with a season before, when they had stood at 5-year low of 250,000 tons.

Turkey was a traditional leader in citrus exports to Ukraine with the share of 56% in Ukraine’s total imports. Furthermore, Turkey managed to raise its citrus export volumes compared with a season before. Egypt and Italy were the second and third largest suppliers with the shares of 12% and 5%, respectively.
