Detailed analysis of the highbush blueberry market in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus to be available after August 25

Fruit-Inform is finishing its work on conducting the first global analytical study "The Blueberry Market in the Eastern Europe - 2020", which will be available after August 25, 2020

Highbush blueberries have consolidated a status of the most expensive berry crop in the Eastern Europe, which production has reached industrial levels and continues to grow in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia. According to Fruit-Inform, it is these countries that have shown the most intensive increase in areas under blueberries, and this trend will remain in effect in the nearest years.

Besides perfect tasting qualities, blueberries are one of the most transportable and storagable crops that enables them to have the longest sales period both in the domestic and external markets.

Growers from the Eastern Europe can use any transportation method (inclusive of air carriage) to ship their blueberries thanks to their high transportability and rather attractive prices over the past few years. The fact has already been confirmed by real examples of blueberry air shipments from Ukraine to the Middle East and South-East Asia.

The Eastern European blueberry market study is conducted by analyzing the information directly from the market players. Fruit-Inform experts have gathered the information on current blueberry production and 5-year plans from leading growers from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. To analyze the foreign trade statistics, Fruit-Inform analysts used the data from reliable sources, which have enabled to cover the most promising export directions and forecast import performance in the Eastern European countries in the following 5 years.

Among all covered countries, it is Ukraine to lead in commercial areas under highbush blueberries, technological level of farms and blueberry exports. Ukraine will be the country for the cases of business plans for blueberry growing farms (1 ha and 30 ha), as well as value chain analysis when exporting to several different destinations.
