“Berries of Ukraine” moves to Kiev!
The 3rd International Conference “Berries of Ukraine – 2012: Frozen Produce & Fresh Market”
Stolychnyi Agricultural Center, Kiev, Ukraine
May 24-25, 2012
The Ukrainian berry business' most important event moves to Kiev: such a decision was taken by the organizers of the annual international conference in 2012. That will enable to expand participants' geography and organize an interesting business tour after the conference sessions. The conference place is an additional advantage, as the event will be held at Stolychnyi Agricultural Center's fruit and vegetable pavilion, the very center of Ukraine's fruit and berry trade.
In addition to the berry production and price forecast for the next season, the organizers will traditionally offer the conference participants quite a few topical novelties:
- Growing of off-season berries: harvesting of early and late traditional berries, development of the market for everbearing varieties.
- Ukrainian berry farms' rankings that will be presented for the first time ever. Rankings of main berry varieties.
- Retail trade in berries in supermarket chains: new opportunities for professional suppliers. The round table is expected to be attended by major market players.
- Investments in the berry business. What to start from: SWOT analysis of the garden raspberry growing business.
- Presentation of the updated study of the IQF berry market, inclusive of brands' position in retail chains.
- Assessment of the garden strawberry and sweet cherry export potential.
Over 2 years of the berry conference, it was attended by more than 300 delegates from 12 countries of the world (Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Israel, Germany, France, Italy, Moldova, New Zealand, Switzerland, USA) with berry producers accounting for about 50% of them.
