Regions will report to government about situation in the food markets

On Saturday, August 30, Cabinet of Ministers is going to hear the reports of regional authorities about situation on local food markets, Prime Minister Victor Yanukovych told the sitting of government Wednesday.

He said first of all the reports would be heard about situation in the bread market and procurement of wheat.

"We see different situation in different regions. Not all the regions approached these issues professionally and working in command", he said.

In July and early August this year a bunch of local governors were dismissed by the Cabinet of Ministers, following food crisis in Ukraine in June. According to the Cabinet, the heads of Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Poltava, Chernivtsi, the Crimea and some other regions proved to be unprofessional in curbing the price hikes and rush demand in food markets of the regions they headed.
