Finance minister says no new food crisis will burst in Ukraine in autumn

There are no reasons for a new food crisis to burst out in Ukraine in autumn, as sufficient grain stocks have been created in the country, Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance Mykola Azarov said at a press-conference Wednesday.

Agency Interfax-Ukraine cited him as saying: "There are no objective prerequisites for price growth, thanks to the work of government. Sufficient stock of food grain has been created and contracts for grain supplies at normal prices for the whole year have been concluded".

Though, many experts have been forecasting repetition of June's crisis on Ukrainian food market in autumn, because of administrative limitations, being imposed by the government on this market.

According to updated forecast of market specialists, grain crop in Ukraine should be expected this year in the amount of 22.7 to 25.5 million tonnes, against 38.8 million tonnes last year.
