Ukraine exported record-breaking volumes of early cabbages in 2010
According to information of Fruit-Inform Project, Ukrainian farmers are actively developing early cabbage business. Therefore, notwithstanding unfavorable weather conditions in 2010, producers managed to export record-breaking volumes of early cabbages.
In particular, cabbage exports from Ukraine reached 7.6 thous. tonnes in May-July 2010 that is 6 times more than in the same period of 2009. Previous record-breaking volumes reached in 2008 were much less too – only about 1.5 thous. tonnes.
Russia and Belarus were major market outlets for early cabbages from Ukraine. Also, we should mention such export destinations as Moldova, Kazakhstan, and Poland.
