Sugar beet harvest progress Sept. 11
According to operative information, as of September 11, 2003, sugar beet has been harvested in Ukraine from 67,500 hectares, which is 9 percent of harvest area forecast. The amount of harvested beets is 1,416,600 tonnes, of which 1,058,600 tonnes have been carried out from fields and stored. The yield has averaged 21.0 tonnes per hectare.
As of September 11, 2002 the sugar beet was harvested from 27,200 hectares (3 percent); the amount of collected beets was 557,200 tonnes at a yield of 20.5 tonnes per hectare.
