Ukrainian producers of apples plan to form an industry association

Several big Ukrainian commercial producers of apples came forward with an initiative to join efforts in the light of internal market saturation with domestic produce and necessity to intensify export shipments. As Fruit-Inform Project was reported, all interested commercial producers of apples and apple seedlings are invited to the first unofficial meeting of the initiative group which will take place in Kyiv, on May 23, 2011.

We should note that Ukraine's fruit and vegetable business already has a successful example of potato industry association that is efficiently developing now, and formation of which was initiated at the international potato conference organized by Fruit-Inform Project. President of Ukrainian Potato Association is expected to share his experience during his speech at the first meeting of apple business representatives. In addition, a Fruit-Inform Project's expert, will share an information on operational experience of such organizations from Ukraine and other countries of the world, on possibilities of registration and possible strategy of the apple association's development. The meeting is supported by IFC and its fruit and vegetable projects.
