Start of berry harvesting to be delayed by 2 weeks in Ukraine
According to Fruit-Inform Project, Ukrainian gardeners are very likely to have good berry harvest this year. As a survey of the largest producers have shown, Ukraine's berry plantations passed the winter rather nicely, and slight frosts occasionally registered in western and southern regions had no significant influence on them.
The current season's peculiarity was later blossoming of berry bushes and fruit trees due to cold spring that, in its turn, was a certain protection against frosts. At the same time, berry harvesting will most likely start 10-15 days later than usually.
More detailed information about berry production and price prospects in Ukraine and Russia will be included in speeches of leading experts of this business during the Second International Conference “Berries of Ukraine-2011: Freezing and Fresh Market”.
