Apples will be cheaper but not cheap
Fruit-Inform Project, specially for the First International Conference “Apple Business of Ukraine, Russia and Moldova - 2011” which will start its work at Stolychnyi Wholesale Market, Kiev, Ukraine, August 11, 2011, has updated its apple production and price forecast for Russia and Ukraine. In the course of conducting the forecast, Fruit-Inform Project surveyed the biggest apple producers from these countries and analyzed the information about apple production prospects in the EU and other European countries.
Preliminary production prospects in Russia, Ukraine and the EU are indicative of apple supply to increase significantly in the market. This will inevitably lead to reduction of apple prices in comparison with last season, although prices will not fall to the level of the season 2009/10 when they were minimum. As of today, apple prices in Ukraine are already 20-30% lower than last year thanks to active supply of early apples in the market.
More detailed information about apple production volumes and price levels in Russia, Ukraine and the EU as well as rankings of apple varieties, analysis of storage capacities and other detailed information about the apple business will be presented during the First International Conference “Apple Business of Ukraine, Russia and Moldova - 2011” . Program of the conference is available through this link. Pay your attention that official registration of participation in the event ends on August 2, 2011.
