Problems with Russia's apple crop
According to Fruit-Inform Project, the survey of Russian apple producers conducted for the Fourth International Conference “Fruit & Vegetable Business of Russia – 2011” has shown that extreme weather conditions registered in 2010 have negative impact on the current apple crop.
According to farmers, many Russia's apple producers have problems with low apple yields. Apples were not in blossom in some orchards. Such a situation is caused by the past summer's abnormally hot weather during the bud set period.
More detailed information about Russia's apple production, import and price prospects as well as about the Russian market for other fruits and vegetables will be presented at the Fourth International Conference “Fruit & Vegetable Business of Russia – 2011”. The event will take place in conjunction with World Food Moscow, September 14, 2011. Registration of the conference participants is currently in active progress.
