Middle East is ready to import Ukrainian potatoes, but are Ukraine’s farmers ready for that?

Wholesale companies from the Middle East see feasible prospects in imports of Ukrainian fresh vegetables, especially potatoes. This was reported to Fruit-Inform by Mrs. Kristina Kapelnitskaya, a leading expert in international trade in fruits and vegetables.

“We managed to communicate with many biggest wholesale operators from the Middle East and now have a clear notion of their collaboration terms. A brisk demand for vegetable and potato supplies is shown in these countries the whole year round. At the same time, only a few Ukrainian farmers are ready to start such a collaboration, however many of them do have the potential”, Mrs. Kapelnitskaya says.

What requirements should Ukrainian suppliers meet to start potato and vegetable export to the Middle East in the next season? How to collaborate with importers in the most optimum way? These and many other questions will be answered by Mrs. Kristina Kapelnitskaya in her speech at the 4th International Conference “Potatoes and Vegetables of Ukraine – 2012”.

The event will be held at President Hotel, Kiev, Ukraine, February 16-17, 2012, and is supported by Ukrainian Association of Potato Producers and Ukrainian Association of Wholesale Markets. The conference will be attended by the biggest vegetable and potato producers, suppliers of seeds, machinery, equipment, the largest purchasers of produce and companies interested in investing in the Ukrainian vegetable and potato business.
