Russia sharply lowers citrus imports
According to Fruit-Inform, since the beginning of 2012, Russia's citrus imports fell averagely 2.5 times. A sharp decrease in imports is connected with high stocks of unsold fruits after New Year holidays. Many wholesale companies traditionally started increasing purchasing volumes since early October. However, hopes for the pre-New-Year buying fever were not realized: the supply of citrus fruits turned out to be significantly higher than the demand in the Russian market. In connection with this, many wholesale companies refused to buy citrus fruits in January trying to sell earlier purchased volumes.Only several groups of users can see full text of this article:
