Wholesale prices of white cabbages 20 times as low as last year in Ukraine

According to Fruit-Inform, as of March 25, 2012, Ukrainian average wholesale prices for white cabbages were 20 times as low as in the same period of last year.

Such a sharp decrease in prices had been already forecast by Fruit-Inform analysts a year and a half ago; however, Ukrainian farmers preferred to consider the government's populist calls rather than professional forecasts. As a result, producers faced record-breaking production in the country and record-breaking losses from white cabbage growing.
