The Verkhovna Rada has approved the Land Code in whole
On October 26 the Verkhovna Rada has approved the Land Code in whole. 232 parliamentarians voted "for", 2 - "against", 0 - abstained from voting, Head of Counting Committee of the Parliament Vladimir Zaets announced.
At the same time the Communist Party will try to declare the Land Code invalid in the Constitutional Court and has already prepared corresponding document, member of the Communist Party of Ukraine fraction Georgiy Kryuchkov announced to the media on October 26.
The Land Code envisages private property on land. At the same time the Land Code sets five-year moratorium on land trading operations. According to the Code, from 2005 to 2010 selling of no more than 100 hectares of agricultural lands by one person is allowed. In addition the Land Code envisages 20-year moratorium on land selling to foreign citizens.
