L. Kozachenko: Increase of gross product in the agriculture totaled about 10 percent in 2001
Increase of gross product in the agriculture in 2001 totaled about 10 percent in comparison to 2000, Vice Premier Leonid Kozachenko announced this during a meeting with delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea on November 2.
In his words, the most significant production increase in the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine today is seen in processing industry (processing of agricultural products and food production) - about 22 percent from the beginning of the year in comparison to the same period of 2000. This, according to L. Kozachenko, is a high level, considering that production increase of processing industry in 2000 was also significant - 25 percent.
The Vice Premier also pointed out that as for today agro-industrial complex of Ukraine has reached the level of food security of the country, because 95 percent of food products offered at the Ukrainian market are of the domestic production.
