Associating to solve Ukraine's berry exports problems
Ukrainian berry exports may be developing more rapidly if producers' efforts are joined. Such an opinion was voiced by Mr. Andrey Schukin, Deputy Director of Black Sea Fruit Company, at the 3rd International Conference “Berries of Ukraine – 2012: Frozen Produce & Fresh Market”.
“Associating may solve a lot of problems that even a big producer cannot overcome alone. Organizational problem is the most important one. Purchasers often make up a consignment from several farms on their own that is inadmissible when having business with big Russian companies”, Mr. Schukin noted.
The expert is sure that producers, after joining their efforts, will be able both to organize a permanent flow of Ukrainian berries to the international market and reduce production costs significantly that will automatically increase Ukrainian produce's competitive power in the Russian and EU markets.
