Ukrainian apple processors start procurement campaign
Ukrainian apple processors announced the start of procurement campaign this week. Processing factories are now in active process of concluding contracts with growers. According to Fruit-Inform, initial purchasing prices of apples for processing vary between UAH 0.60-0.65/kg (EUR 0.06-0.07/kg) without VAT that is almost the same year-on-year.
The present supply of apples for processing is very limited now, however processors are sure that there will be no problems with procurement campaign, as this year's Ukrainian apple production will be rather high.
We would remind you that last year prices of apples for processing did not decrease lower than UAH 0.65-0.70/kg (EUR 0.07/kg) in the first half of August, while their maximum level (UAH 1.00-1.30/kg – EUR 0.10-0.13/kg) was registered in late August and first half of September.
