Apple season 2012/13: Poland, Russia and Ukraine expecting record-breaking production
Russia, Ukraine and Poland stand all chances to have record-breaking apple production in the season 2012/13. According to Fruit-Inform, Ukrainian apple production may grow by 5% in 2012, while Russia will harvest at least 8% more apples. Poland may set a record in production too. According to Polish analysts' forecasts, apple production in the country may be the highest in the past 4 years.
In such a way, the Eastern European apple season 2012/13 will differ much from the previous ones, especially if taking into account a decrease in Russia's import duties on apples on August 23 as a part of Russia's entry into the WTO.
We would remind you that the WAPA global apple production forecast for the year 2012 will be for the first time presented in Ukraine at the 2nd International Conference “Apple Business of Ukraine & Russia – 2012”.
As regards the Ukrainian and Russian apple production and price forecast for the season 2012/13, it will be presented by Mrs. Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform.
