Russia: stably low prices of apples for processing
Prices of apples for processing remain stably low in Russia despite a seasonal decrease in the supply. According to the leading growers, raw apples are sold mainly at 0.07-0.11 euro/kg, depending on region, with sales at higher prices being reported rarely.
Such a situation is connected with this year's high apple production in the country and an increase in competition between apple suppliers that enables processors to dictate their conditions on the market.
It should be noted that current prices of apples for processing are averagely 1.7 times lower year-on-year.
