Ukraine: apple juice production grows, consumption falls
According to Fruit-Inform, apple juice sales fell in Ukraine year-on-year. Processors connect it with Ukrainians' low paying capacity.
At the same time, apple juice production continued to grow in the country despite lower demand. According to the official statistics, in September-October 2012, Ukrainian factories produced 8,900 tonnes of apple juice that was 6% higher year-on-year. As regards pricing policy, it remains stable. Only some processors increased prices by 5-7% in view of higher production costs. In particular, sugar prices have averagely grown by 40-45% in the country.
