Ukraine ahead of Netherlands in onion exports to Russia in December 2012

According to Fruit-Inform, Ukraine left the Netherlands far behind in onion exports to Russia and became third largest onion supplier of the Russian Federation in December 2012 with the share of 22% in Russia's total imports. Higher exports to Russia were registered only from China (with the share of 35%) and Poland (with the share of 32%).

As regards the Netherlands, Russia imported just 37 tonnes of onions from this country in December 2012, while in the same month of 2011 Dutch exports amounted to 251 tonnes. At the same time, Ukraine's onion exports to Russia in December 2012 were three and a half times higher year-on-year and reached 330 tonnes.
