China's AJC exports to Russia down in January
China continues to lose ground in the Russian market for apple juice concentrate (AJC). In January this year, Chinese exporters reduced AJC shipments to Russia by 42% year-on-year to 2,000 tonnes. For comparison, the country imported about 3,600 tonnes of this product in January 2012, and China led in AJC exports to Russia. In January 2013, it yielded the palm to Ukraine.
However, on a month-on-month basis, Chinese AJC exports grew 122 times, as exports in December 2012 were insignificant.
We would remind you that more detailed information about Russian and Ukrainian apple business with 5-year outlook is available in the fundamental study “Apples of Ukraine & Russia — 2013: Present Situation and Prospects in Growing, Storage, Handling, Processing and Marketing”.
