Ukrainian apple processors start procurement campaign
Several Ukrainian apple processors have started procurement campaign this week. Due to worse weather conditions in many regions of the country, the supply of nonstandard apples has significantly grown in the market and provoked lower prices of raw apples and processors' higher demand. Last year the procurement campaign started a week earlier due to more significant supply of apples for processing in the market.
For the present, apple processors purchase apples at about 0.06 euro/kg, which is almost the same year-on-year. At the same time, despite such advantageous conditions, processors prefer to wait with purchasing until arrival of medium-season varieties in the market due to their better flavor.
