Moldova's apple exports to Russia up
Despite a slight decrease in Russia's apple imports in the first months of the season 2013/14, Moldova managed to raise its apple exports to the Russian Federation. In August 2013 Moldovan exporters shipped 21,000 tons of apples to Russia, an increase of 40% from the same month of the previous season.
Russia's cumulative imports of apples from Moldova in the first 2 months of the current season reached 26,000 tons, an increase of a half year-on-year. In such a way, Moldova accounted for the share of 30% in Russia's total apple imports in July-August 2013.
