Ukrainian farmers keep on investing in vegetable storage facilities construction

Despite two bad financial years in a row, Ukrainian farmers keep on investing in construction of vegetable storage facilities. According to Fruit-Inform, the construction rates have significantly decreased since 2011. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian vegetable storage capacity grew by 2% in 2012 and by another 1.5% in 2013.

Almost all newly constructed storage facilities have modern long-storage equipment. The construction geography has also changed. Southern regions were the leaders in 2012 with the western ones ranking second. In 2013, almost all new storage facilities were constructed in the central regions.

We would remind you that more detailed information about the Ukrainian fruit and vegetable market developments will be presented at the 10th Anniversary International Conference “Fruits & Vegetables of Ukraine-2013”, November 26-28, 2013, International Exhibition Center, Kiev, Ukraine.
