Belgium lowers pear exports to Russia
According to Federal State Statistics Service of Russia, the country reduced imports of pears from Belgium in the beginning of the season 2012/13.
Belgium's exports to Russia reached just 2,800 tons in September this year, a decrease of about 25% year-on-year and the lowest result registered in that month over the past 5 years.
Russia's cumulative imports of pears from Belgium over the period from July to September 2013 amounted to record low 4,000 tons, 33% lower compared with the same period of the previous season.
We would remind you that Belgium with the share of 11% was the third largest exporter of pears to the Russian Federation after Argentina and the Netherlands.
