Ukrainian fresh produce price index up again
Fruit-Inform Ukrainian fresh produce price index went up by 7.1% in the week from December 7th to 13th, after an increase of 11% a week before. In such a way, fruit and vegetable prices have been growing in Ukraine for the eighth week in a row and have already gone up by more than 34%.
“Prices of potatoes and onions kept on growing last week. Furthermore, an increase in prices was registered in the segments of table beets, carrots and greenhouse vegetables”, says Ms. Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform. “A sharp increase in prices of table beets and carrots is connected with higher demand before New Year holidays and smaller supply of low-quality produce in the market”.
At the same time, fruit prices are still stable in Ukraine with no significant changes being registered and their levels still being about 20% lower year-on-year.
