Ukraine: record low imports of Iranian raisins in January
Ukraine’s imports of Iranian raisins in January 2014 were the lowest over the past 4 years.
Iran shipped less than 1,000 tons of raisins to Ukraine, a decrease of 41% year-on-year. Ukraine’s cumulative imports of raisins from Iran over the first 7 months of the season 2013/14 totaled just 5,500 tons, a decrease of 32% compared with the same period of the previous season and the lowest result over the past 5 years.
Despite a fall in exports, Iran is still the largest supplier of raisins to Ukraine with the share of slightly less than a half in Ukraine’s total imports.
