Poland: stable prices for imported pears

The supply of pears imported from Western Europe is steady in Poland, according to the market participants, and their prices remain stable.

Pear production in Western Europe has been rather good in the current season, therefore shipments to Poland are regular now.

For the present, Conference pears of Belgian and Dutch origin are offered at 12.50-14.42 euro per carton (12 kg) or 1.04-1.20 euro per gross kg, depending on size. Domestic pears are sold at 14.42-24.04 euro per carton (12 kg) or 0.72-1.20 euro per gross kg, depending on quality and size.

The Polish market is also supplied with pears from Latin America and Africa.

Red Bartlett and Williams pears of Argentinean origin (size from 35/36 to 50) are offered at 13 euro per carton (9 kg). Prices of Rosemary pears of South African origin vary between 2.86 per 6.3 kg (size 45+) and 3.24 euro per 6.3 kg (size 30+).
