Polish pear stocks significantly higher year-on-year
Polish pear stocks are estimated as rather high for the present.
As of February 1, 2014, the stocks stood at 12,000 tons, while a year before they totaled just 1,000 tons.
Conference pears account for the most part of the stocks in Poland with the share of 83%.
Such a sharp year-on-year increase in the stocks is connected with higher production of pears in the country. We would remind you that WAPA analysts estimated Poland's pear production at 65,000 tons in the season 2013/14, an increase of 44% year-on-year and 39% higher than average over the past 5 years.
