Poland: demand for apples still high despite possible ban in Russia
The Polish market participants say that Russia's announcement of possible ban on Polish imports had no impact on the demand for apples.
Current demand for apples in Poland remains high both in the domestic market and from the side of exporters. Nevertheless, apple prices are stable in the country due to exporters not interesting in purchasing apples at higher prices in view of the unstable currency market.
As a result, apples are offered at 0.24-0.28 euro/kg in the Poland, depending on variety, shipment volume and size of produce. Idared, Champion, Ligol, Gloster and Jonagold varieties are most popular now, according to Polish growers.
