Saint Petersburg, Russia: prices of Italian apples down

The Russian market participants say of a decrease in prices for apples of Italian origin in Saint Petersburg.

For the present, sellers offer Italian apples at 0.89-1.38 euro/kg, depending on variety, quality and fruit size. The lowest prices are quoted for Granny Smith apples. It should be noted that in late March apples of Italian origin were 5-10% more expensive in Saint Petersburg.

We would remind you that Italy ranks eighth in apple exports to Russia in the current season with Poland, Moldova and Serbia being the leaders. In the period from July 2013 to March 2014 the Russian Federation imported 11,000 tons of Italian apples.
