Ukraine: prices of imported apples up week-on-week
The Ukrainian market participants say of an increase of 20-25% in prices of imported apples compared with the previous week.
For the present, prices vary between UAH 5-12/kg (EUR 0.31-.73/kg), depending on quality and country of origin.
An increase in prices is connected with limited supply of imported apples in Ukraine. However, the demand for them is not high as buyers often prefer seasonal fruits and berries.
Nevertheless, in the beginning of summer 2013, imported apples were averagely 15% more expensive than now.
