Strong showers and hail damaged crops in the south of Russia
Regional authorities in the south of Russia are working at repairing the destructive consequences of recent strong showers with hail. According to a Russian TV channel, the damage, inflicted by the element, is estimated in almost 100 million roubles (29 roubles = $1).
In Krasnodar Krai the hail has hit 26,000 tonnes of agricultural crops. The most affected areas, where the hailstorms were the strongest, appeared to be in the Republic of Karachayevo-Cherkesia.
According to weather forecasts, on June 10 and on the following days new strong rains are expected in the region.
