Georgia denies information on prohibited export of its fruits and vegetables to Russia
The Georgian Ministry of Agriculture has denied the media information about exports of Georgian fruits and vegetables, being banned as of the new year, to Russia.
"The export of Georgian products to the Russian market resumed in 2013,” the ministry said. “In the first stage, the products with low phytosanitary risk and later the products with high phytosanitary risk were allowed to be supplied to Russia. At this stage, Georgia exports alcoholic and mineral drinks, as well as vegetables, fruits, citrus fruits, dried fruits, spices, tea and bay leaves to Russia."
The negotiations on honey, fish, sheep export are underway, the ministry said.
