Ukraine: fresh produce price index slightly up before May holidays

Fruit-Inform Ukrainian fresh produce price index has grown by 2.9% in the week from April 25th to 30th thanks to higher prices of greenhouse vegetables before May holidays, after a fall of 3.3% a week before.

«Prices of almost all fresh produce categories were stable last week, except for positive price trend in the segment of greenhouse vegetables in view of closer May holidays in Ukraine», says Ms. Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform. «At the same time, a slight decrease in onion prices and growth in the price levels of white cabbage should also be noted».

For the first time over long period, fruit prices have been stable in the majority of cases thanks to steady supply and demand balance in the fruit segment.
