Moldova significantly raises exports of fruits, vegetables in first half of 2015
Moldova has significantly raised exports of fruits and vegetables since the beginning of 2015, according to Publika.md. Moreover, Moldovan farmers managed to find new export markets for their products.
Moldova's exports of sweet and sour cherries totaled 6,600 tons and 1,900 tons, respectively, in January-June 2015, while raspberry exports amounted to 600 tons, three times as high as a year before.
The EU countries accounted for about 70% of those exports, and the same situation was observed in the vegetable sector.
Moldova exported about 8 tons of potatoes, 108 tons of cabbage and 166 tons of carrots and turnips as well as more than 4,000 tons of onions in the first half of 2015.
