Cauliflower prices gradually down in Ukraine
Cauliflower prices have been gradually going down in Ukraine, according to Fruit-Inform daily price monitoring.
Cauliflowers are now offered at UAH 10.00-11.50/kg (EUR 0.39-0.45/kg) at Stolychnyi Wholesale Market, Kiev, a decrease of 10% week-on-week. At the same time, on a year-on-year basis, current prices are still a third higher.
Prices also went down by 10-15% to UAH 6-8/kg (EUR 0.23-0.31/kg) at Kopani Wholesale Market, Kherson Oblast, compared with a week before. However, cauliflower prices were 15-20% higher in the same period of the previous season.
The most significant decrease in prices is registered at Shuvar Wholesale Market, Lviv. Sellers are ready to ship cauliflowers at UAH 8-10/kg (EUR 0.31-0.39/kg), a decrease of 33% week-on-week. At the same time, prices have not changed year-on-year there.
Sellers connect negative price trend with a seasonal increase in cauliflower supply in Ukraine. Moreover, trading activity is not high in the Ukrainian market, which also exerts pressure on prices.
