Prices of Chinese cabbage at least double year-on-year in Crimea, Ukraine
Current prices of Chinese cabbage have grown 2-2.3 times year-on-year in Crimea, Ukraine, according to Fruit-Inform, and keep on increasing.
Now sellers offer their produce at RUB 35-40/kg (USD 0.46-0.53/kg), depending on quality, at Krymskiy Privoz Wholesale Market, an increase of a third week-on-week. We would remind you that minimum prices stood at RUB 25/kg (USD 0.33/kg) a week before.
The market participants connect a rise in prices with local middlemen and wholesale companies' active demand for Chinese cabbage under conditions of still limited supply. Only several Crimean farms have started harvesting late varieties, and growers prefer to keep a largest part of their harvest in storage.
