Armenian growers to be paid for grapes by the end of the year
Armenian winegrowers will receive the money for their grapes sold to wineries and other processing enterprises before the end of the year, Central Bank Chairman Arthur Javadyan said today.
Mr. Javadyan said also that farmers had been allowed to make all the payments on their loans after receiving the payment.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Armenian winegrowers have harvested 301,000 metric tons of grapes as of October 22, up from 261,000 tons last year.
Wineries and other enterprises have bought this year a total of 209,000 tons of grapes, up from 184,000 tons in 2014. So far a total of 8,000 tons of Armenian grapes was exported, up from 5,200 tons last year.
