Ukraine reduces wine exports and imports in 2015

Ukraine's exports of natural grape wines totaled $38.2 mln in 2015, a decrease of 6.1% year-on-year, according to Mr. Viktor Kostenko, Director of Fruit Growing and Viticulture Department at the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

The Russian Federation ($29.4 mln), Georgia ($3.3 mln), Azerbaijan ($1.3 mln), Germany ($1.3 mln) and China ($0.7 mln) were the largest importers of Ukrainian wines in 2015.

Ukraine also reduced imports of wines by 41.2%, and they totaled just $56.7 mln in 2015.

The largest wine exporters to Ukraine were represented by Italy ($16.8 mln), France ($10.9 mln), Georgia ($7.9 mln), Moldova ($4.9 mln) and Germany ($3.4 mln).

As regards Ukrainian wine production, it went down by 2% in 2015 and totaled 17.35 mln dal, according to the official statistics.
