Crimea: Chinese cabbage prices down by a third over weekend
Low demand for Chinese cabbage and its rapidly worsening quality in view of long-term storage have forced Crimean sellers to reduce their prices, according to Fruit-Inform.
Now prices vary between RUB 70-80/kg (USD 1.01-1.15/kg) at Krymskiy Privoz Wholesale Market, Simferopol, a fall of 30-33% compared with the end of the previous week, when produce was offered at RUB 90/kg (USD 1.30/kg) and higher.
It should be noted that prices have also fallen by 25% year-on-year in Crimea, and the sector experts expect negative price trend to remain in effect due to worsening quality of produce.
