Ukrainian processors start blueberry procurement campaign
Ukrainian processors have started purchasing wild-grown blueberries this week, according to Fruit-Inform. This year the season has started with no delay compared with 2015; however, prices are averagely 7% lower year-on-year.
The market participants say of rapidly growing supply of berries in the Ukrainian market, and current prices vary between UAH 25-28/kg (EUR 0.89-0.99/kg) against UAH 28-30/kg (EUR 0.99-1.06/kg) in the beginning of this week.
It should be noted that now blueberries are offered mainly in Volyn, Rivne and Zhytomyr Oblasts, while the campaign in Zakarpattia Oblast is expected to start in 10-15 days.
