Polish apple stocks down by 75% over May
Polish growers have been actively selling their apple stocks. According to updated data provided by WAPA, Polish apple stocks have fallen by 75% over May and now total 152,000 tons against 592,000 tons a month before.
Idared accounted for the share of 40% in total stocks and was followed by Golden Delicious and Ligol varieties with the shares of 17% and 10%, respectively.
Nevertheless, it should be noted that despite a fall in stocks, they are still 50% higher year-on-year.
For the present, Polish growers are actively offering their last year’s apples at prices varying between 0.14-0.17 euro/kg. For comparison, the majority of farms managed to finish their apple season in the same period of the previous season.
