Kazakhstan plans to increase production of fruit juice concentrates more than 20 times!
Kazakhstan plans to actively increase its domestic production of fruit juice concentrates, says Mr. Temirzhan Zhalgasbayev, Director at Alatau Fruits Engineering, Kazakhstan. According to him, production of fruit juice concentrates will go up 21 times in the nearest 4 years.
In particular, Kazakhstan now produces 1.2 tons of fruit juice concentrates and has to compensate shortage of supply by imports, which exceed 35,000 tons annually.
“Kazakhstan has already launched a government program to stimulate growth in domestic production of fresh and processed apples and other fruits”, comments Mr. Zhalbasbayev. “The plans are to see 7-fold increase in total production of apples in Kazakhstan by 2020. This will enable both to reduce imports of fresh fruits and oust a significant part of imported juice concentrates from the internal market”.
According to him, production of Kazakhstani fruit juice concentrate will reach 25,000 tons by 2020, and the country will be able to reduce imports of those products by 70% approximately.
