Crimea: tomato prices half as high year-on-year

Crimean sellers are forced to sell greenhouse tomatoes at prices significantly lower than those fixed a year before, according to Fruit-Inform.

Prices now vary between RUB 40-50/kg (USD 0.64-0.80/kg), a decrease of 41% year-on-year.

Such a situation is connected with an increase in the supply of tomatoes in the Crimean market thanks to higher shipments from Russian greenhouse centers. Meanwhile, local production of tomatoes has significantly gone down in Crimea this year.
