Ukraine: tomato prices up at several wholesale markets
Prices of greenhouse tomatoes have been rapidly growing at wholesale markets of Kiev and Odessa in Ukraine, according to Fruit-Inform.
The sharpest rise in prices is observed at Privoz Wholesale Market, Odessa. Now sellers offer their tomatoes at UAH 15-20/kg (EUR 0.54-0.72/kg), depending on quality, an increase of 43-50% since the end of the past week. However, prices have not changed on a year-on-year basis.
At the same time, tomatoes have become 10% more expensive at Stolychnyi Wholesale Market, Kiev. Now prices also vary between UAH 15-20/kg (EUR 0.54-0.72/kg) there. However, these prices are already 16% higher year-on-year.
