Ukraine: bananas less expensive year-on-year, and prices continue to go down
Banana prices have been decreasing at Ukrainian wholesale markets, according to Fruit-Inform. In the meantime, they are averagely a third lower year-on-year.
On a week-on-week basis, prices have already fallen by 5-10%.
Now sellers from Shuvar Wholesale Market offer bananas at UAH 23-24/kg (EUR 0.79-0.83/kg), a decrease of 40% year-on-year.
Bananas are now sold at UAH 22-23/kg (EUR 0.76-0.79/kg) at Stolychnyi Wholesale Market, Kiev, a fall of 40-43% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, sellers from Dubovo Wholesale Market, Khmelnytskyi, sell their bananas at prices 52-60% higher compared with a year before: UAH 22-25/kg (EUR 0.76-0.86/kg), depending on quality.
