Ukraine: banana prices up in Odessa and Kiev
Banana prices have been growing at some wholesale markets of Ukraine, according to Fruit-Inform. In particular, bananas have become more expensive in Odessa and Kiev.
In the meantime, sellers from Pochatok Wholesale Market, Odessa, are ready to sell their bananas at UAH 22-30/kg (EUR 0.77-1.05/kg), depending on quality and variety, while a week before prices did not exceed UAH 26/kg (EUR 0.91/kg).
Meanwhile, banana prices vary between UAH 25-27/kg (EUR 0.87-0.94/kg) at Stolychnyi Wholesale Market, Kiev, against no higher than UAH 26/kg (EUR 0.91/kg) a week before.
Prices at other wholesale markets are relatively stable now. However, the market analysts expect positive pricing trend to be soon registered in other Ukrainian regions in view of a rise in prices in Ecuador, the main supplier of bananas to Ukraine.
